The Bellagio’s Supper Club Plans to Open for New Year’s Eve
Wed 9/25The Bellagio confirms that a supper club is on the way to the resort, replacing Hyde, and now it has a name and opening date. The Mayfair plans to open on New Year’s Eve with a view of the Fountains at Bellagio.
The Mayfair plans to be a dinner-and-a-show-type restaurant with live performances and American cuisine. The 13,050-square-foot space is already hiring and features a hefty estimated budget of $6,789,302 quoted in filed paperwork. A remodel of the spacious interior brings a potential occupancy of 537.
The supper club, which will not be a nightclub with velvet ropes and lines awaiting entrance, is a direct response to the “shifting tastes and a desire to broaden the appeal of nightlife to other demographics,” The Hollywood Reporter writes.
Sean Christie, MGM Resorts’ president of events and nightlife, tells the publication that earlier in the evening might feature classic music from Frank Sinatra or Marvin Gaye that changes as the night progresses. “The only spaces servicing customers after midnight at the moment are nightclubs and ultra-lounges,” Christie tells THR. “For the well-heeled crowd, like the Bellagio customer, we want to make sure that we have enough offerings and energy that you would stay until 2 a.m. or 3 a.m. on the weekends.”
MGM Resorts tapped London-based Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, which worked on Primrose and Bavette’s at the Park MGM, to create the decor. The patio, a lounge, and a bar are so far touted as spaces for a cocktail.
Bellagio certainly isn’t the first resort to re-introduce the supper club to Las Vegas. Rose. Rabbit. Lie at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas offers dining and live entertainment in a supper club environment, and Wynn Las Vegas plans to open Delilah in the former Alex space in 2020.
Hyde closed back in July after seven years with one of the most coveted views on the Strip.
